She may be teeny, but this little babe is the light of our lives. Her becoming part of our family is the greatest thing that has ever happened to our crew. We are smitten over her, and she has stolen our hearts with her big brown eyes, curly hair, and sweet spirit.

OUR ADOPTION JOURNEY

I get asked a lot why I didn’t share openly on social media that we were adopting. To be honest, it was not a secret at all. I did not know who our birth mother would be, and wanted to be respectful. After all, I am not the only one involved in this, and it would be silly to pretend that I am. For us, this seemed like the right choice. I may be totally fine opening my life up to the whole internet, but that doesn’t mean every single person on the planet is. I will say is, I never ever knew the full strength of a mother’s love until we went through our very own adoption with Nina. I have nothing but love and the most respect for her birth mother. That right there is the true level of selflessness, and example of love.

This past month being Nina’s mother has been a dream. Adopting has been something we have been working towards for years, and now that we have this perfect daughter in our arms – I can’t even put into words the joy we feel.

I have been overwhelmed with so many touching emails, and messages from all of you about your own adoption stories. I cannot believe how many times I have opened a message from a reader saying they themselves are adopted! This world of ours is so small. I have loved hearing each of your stories, keep them coming 🙂

This is the first post of many. I plan on sharing much more about sweet Nina and our adoption journey.
