On Trend: Blazers/How to Wear a Blazer with Jeans

Well people. Here I am sitting inside blasting the AC at 68 degrees wearing a tank top. It’s the end of October. Humor me, and let’s all pretend that it is actually fall weather and not really 95 out. Not gonna lit, I looked pretty stupid wearing all these layers whole shooting. Passerby’s heading to the beach were staring. Thank goodness for good photo shop skills, otherwise you would for sure be able to see my sweaty glow.

One of the biggest trends we have been seeing as of late is the blazer! I am loving that the fitted school boy blazers are a thing! I feel like they are flattering on everyone, I have yet to see a person or body type not look amazing in one.

Typically, when we think of “blazer” we think of workwear, and picture it along with a pantsuit. While I do looovee a good pantsuit (see one of my favs here), my favorite way to add a blazer to add it onto a casual outfit.

In my look here, I am wearing a super affordable pair of denim (only $58!), and my favorite white basic tee. It was so easy to throw on this classic and chic black blazer with gold buttons over my casual look! Here I am wearing it with Red Sock Booties, but in real life I have worn this exact same outfit with white sneakers while running around town.

Often, people tell me that they don’t know how to wear a blazer with jeans, or it’s too hard to match. I say you’re thinking way too much about a layering piece 🙂 Start with your basics: jeans and tee (or sweater, or long sleeve shirt). Feel good, and comfortable in that. Then grab a blazer that fits you well. One that you are able to button close (but, don’t wear it closed), and one that the shoulder seams line up with your shoulders. Then throw it on! Add shoes to match your mood! Comfy, or sassy are always my two go-to’s!

Below are a few picks of affordable denim, and blazers!

I really like this outfit! Definitely can make an outfit work with a classic blazer. 🙂
