My first two children were not healthy when they were born. Both of the boys, had a rough time in utero, and when they finally made it out it didn’t get any easier for them. Short story is both of them were in the NICU for a few weeks, and they were about a week before I could even hold them.
When I finally brought them back home, they may have been healthier, but I was still a wreck! I was so used to them being closely monitored and watched over. Even if they slept I hardly did because I was worried about them.
Babies cant communicate to you how they are doing, or feeling (that would be awesome and parenting would be so much easier #daydreaming) or even if they are uncomfortable. You literally even have to teach babies to sleep. That is how fragile they are!
When we found out a new baby was coming into our family, I cannot even express the joy and happiness we felt, and are still feeling with Nina in our family. I had a couple of baby items on my “need to have” list, and the Owlet Smart Sock was one of the few items on it!
Nina was full-term and healthy as could be when she was born, and we are so thankful for that! Now that I have had children that were born ill, and perfectly healthy, I know that worrying about your baby while they sleep is just something parents do no matter what. Those couple of nights in the hospital I basically slept with my head as close to her bassinet as possible to hear her breathing, as well as my hand on her to feel her chest. Needless to say that is not really “sleep” for me.
The Owlet Smart Sock 2: a Newborn Essential
We could not wait to get her home and begin using the Owlet Smart Sock 2. If you have never heard of it before, the Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor allows you to tracks you baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels while they sleep. If anything drops out of the preset range, it automatically sends a notification to your phone notifying you about it.
This is such an amazing tool because not only does it give peace of mind, notifies me when baby is wiggling, or deep in sleep.
Owlet Smart Sock 2 is super user friendly. It is just a comfy sock that your baby wears, and a base station that you pair to their app! The socks also comes in different sizes so it grows with your baby, and they can be worn under socks or footie pajamas.
My children’s safety and health are always top of my list, and I honestly have loved using our Owlet Smart Sock with Nina. It has given us peace of mind, and has helped us understand her sleep cycles a little better too! I feel like the Owlet Smart Sock 2 is 100% worth it, and I would for sure buy it all over again!
